Our Commitment

AGG1 is committed to positively impacting our attendees, exhibitors, and the New Orleans community.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Partnership

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

AGG1 and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) have partnered to raise awareness and equip industry professionals with the tools to foster a culture that prioritizes mental health and well-being. Together, we will launch a multi-year initiative to provide mental health education, suicide prevention resources, and training tailored specifically to the needs of the construction industry.

This collaboration positions AGG1 as a powerful platform for change. It amplifies conversations and promotes actionable strategies to support mental health across the industry. There’s so much we can do to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide, but we need your help. Your gift helps us build a future where no one feels alone and any amount helps us further this mission.

Our commitment to sustainability

AGG1 is committed to reducing the environmental impact of the shows, through partnering with vendors that are dedicated to sustainable practices and reducing waste, helping exhibitors and attendees choose more sustainable options and measuring our total environmental impact to identify future improvements.

In addition, the construction industry and AGG1 continues to evolve in many ways to adapt and showcase technologies, products, and practices that allow us to build a more sustainable world.

As part of the show’s commitment to sustainability, we have worked with our many vendors and service providers to ensure sustainability best practices, including:

  • Venue: The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (NOENMCC) has achieved its second Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification  Gold certification, a major milestone in its ongoing commitment to sustainability. A building rating system that provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, green buildings, LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership.
  • Carpet: Offer carpet and padding options that can be re-purposed across multiple events and transported locally to minimize emissions.
  • Graphics: Print all single-use rigid graphics on high quality recyclable substrates, aisle signs on 100% recyclable, high quality paper with only non-VOC inks.
  • Booths: Offer modern, reusable, pre-fabricated rental building structures, which are 100% recyclable. Provide recycled and re-purposed fabric drape.
  • Rental furniture: Reduce landfill impact by offering rental furniture options for non-rental items.
  • AV equipment / Energy: Use energy-efficient (Energy Star) electronic equipment when available and mandate power- down policy—all AV equipment, escalators, lights, HVAC equipment, etc. is powered down on an automated scheduling system. The NOENMCC replaced 1.9 million square feet of traditional roofing with a new, energy-efficient “cool roof” system to help divert heat.
  • Show floor: Reduce carbon footprint and travel costs by using local union labor and provide plentiful waste and recycling bins on the show floor, as well as dedicated collection areas for cardboard, metal, pallets, and plastic on all docks.
  • Trucks: Enacting an engine idling policy at all loading dock locations.
  • Food Service: The NOENMCC regularly donates food to local organizations, including substance abuse treatment facility Bethel Colony. Thousands of pounds of food are donated to local food banks each year. Most serving-ware is plastic-free and made of biodegradable materials.
  • Plastic Reduction: The NOENMCC has 87 free water bottle fill stations, allowing exhibitors and attendees to refill their own bottles without the plastic bottle waste.
